Breakthroughs have been made in the research and development and production of alloy element additives

2025 06/21

Recently, the international field of materials science has witnessed a major breakthrough, especially in the research and development and production of master alloys and alloy element additives. These innovative achievements not only enhance the performance of materials but also bring new development opportunities to multiple industrial fields. In the field of additive manufacturing (3D printing), a new type of ordered intermetallic compound alloy (CCIMA) has made significant progress. This alloy is based on the multi-element Ni-Co-Si-Ti-Al-B system and is fabricated by laser powder bed melting (LPBF) technology, demonstrating excellent printability and mechanical properties. This alloy can remain crack-free during the printing process without complex post-treatment, and through single-step thermal stabilization treatment, it achieves a perfect combination of high strength and high ductility. This achievement not only resolves the brittleness issue of traditional intermetallic compounds in additive manufacturing, but also provides new material options for high-end manufacturing industries such as aerospace and automobiles. Arizona State University in the United States, in collaboration with other research institutions, has developed a new type of high-temperature copper alloy, which exhibits outstanding thermal stability and mechanical strength at high temperatures. These breakthroughs not only demonstrate the innovative capabilities in the international field of materials science, but also bring new development opportunities to related industrial sectors. With the wide application of these high-performance alloys, it is expected to drive technological progress and industrial upgrading in more industries in the future.
